The climate changed. The Mediterranean died. Europe walled itself off.
Humanity scattered across a fractured solar system — but brought every war, grudge, and power grab along for the ride.
Earth, Luna, orbitals. Dense, surveilled, corporate-controlled.
Mars, Belt, outer stations. Sparse, lawless, opportunity.
You are a mercenary operator. Jobs too dirty, too dangerous, or too illegal for corporate militaries.
Build a pool of 2–5 d20s
Split dice across action axes. All resolve simultaneously — every die does something.
| TN | Difficulty |
|---|---|
| 6 | Routine — trained operators auto-pass |
| 10 | Contested — even odds, gear matters |
| 14 | Hard — need specialization or luck |
| 18 | Extreme — augment-territory |
Natural 20 succeeds and grants a bonus die. Chain indefinitely.
Every die misses? Catastrophic failure. The GM gets a complication.
Three harm slots. Fill them all and you're ousted — out of the scene, not dead (unless fiction demands it).
Harm clears between scenes. Consequences don't.
Every situation has multiple valid approaches. The system never funnels you into a single correct play.
NPCs use the same rules as players. If you can do it, so can they. No GM fiat dice.
Mechanics care about the fiction. A monofilament blade and a breaching charge solve different problems differently.
